HBI university social service department offer a social work program that prepares students to work in a variety of settings and with a range of clients. Social workers help people access resources and services, and work to increase social justice and resource access for underrepresented communities.Â
Social workers may work with people who are:
Experiencing mental health concerns
Refugees and immigrants
Aging individuals
Couples and families
Victims of violence or trauma
Incarcerated or in the criminal justice system
VeteransÂ
Social workers may work in a variety of settings, including:
hospitals, schools, community organizations, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private practice.Â

HBIU offers bachelor's and master's degrees in social work. The BSW program includes a 420-hour internship in which students apply classroom learning to practice.Â
